Castor Bay

Castor Bay is at the southern end of North Shore City's East Coast Bays suburbs. It's bordered to the north by the excellent Centennial Park, to the south by Milford Creek, to the east by the Hauraki Gulf and to the west by East Coast Bays Road. It's a predominantly affluent suburb, with some truly stunning homes along the cliff top beside Beach Road. Braemar and Castor Bay roads provide for some elevated properties with great views out over the Gulf.

Castor Bay beach is a great little beach. It's sheltered and safe for little kids to swim at both high and low tide. It has plenty of grassy space with shade trees for picnics. When the kids are sick of swimming there is a great playground.  JF Kennedy Memorial Park runs along the cliff tops and provides a great place to walk the dog and stunning views of Rangitoto. Public Transport is good, with buses regularly traveling north and south along Beach Road and East Coast Bays road, with Aberdeen road connecting them.

Most of the East Coast Bays dedicated school buses travel through Castor Bay, so it's simple to get the kids to school. There is a single restaurant in Castor Bay. The Aroma Indian Cuisine. It provides dine in and takeout and is pretty good if you love Indian style food. For more eating options, Milford and Mairangi Bay both have plenty of close by restaurant options.
